Crispy Air Fried Egg Rolls Recipe!
20 mins prepServes 6
These crispy air-fried egg rolls are a family favorite, easy to make, and a healthier alternative to deep-frying. They're perfect for game days or a satisfying lunch, and can be made in an air fryer or oven for a delicious, crunchy exterior.
1. Spray a sauté pan or use the "sauté" mode on your appliance. Start sautéing about 1/2 chopped onion for 1-2 minutes.
2. Add 1-3 cloves of crushed garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Add 1 pound of lean ground meat, meatless crumbles (if vegan), or ground turkey.
4. Season with a little pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and a sprinkle of paprika. Add 1/2 tsp ground or fresh ginger (optional but delicious). Sauté, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until there is no pink and it is cooked through.
5. Add 1 1/2 tsp coconut aminos or low sodium soy sauce.
6. Add 1 1/2-2 cups of shredded cabbage and stir around. Continue to cook until the meat is fully cooked. Taste before adding your own salt, as the soy sauce can make it too salty.
7. Preheat your oven or air fryer to 380-400°F (choose your preference).
8. Use a slotted spoon to drain the meat mixture a little, as it can get liquidy.
9. Take egg roll wrappers (found in the frozen section). Add about 1/4 cup of filling to each egg roll, packing it tight.
10. In a small bowl, mix an egg with a little water to create an egg wash. Use this to help seal the sides of the egg rolls.
11. Spray the filled egg rolls with some oil spray.
12. Cook for about 13 minutes in an air fryer, or closer to 20 minutes in an oven, until crispy and golden.
